Stephen Campbell was born in Birkenhead in 1949. He was the only son of Richard and Marion Campbell. He was also the loving brother of Susan.
Steve joined the fire service at the age of 17 and had a very successful career for 32 years. Ironically Steve passed away at his beloved Hatton gardens ( fire service head quarters) this showed how much of a workaholic and how much he was dedicated to the brigade. Sadly a massive heart attack a week after being promoted to assistant chief fire officer in merseyside fire brigade took Steve away from his beloved family and brigade.
Steve left behind his ex wife Pam who where married for more than twenty years and had two lovely children. They still where good friends even after they divorced.
Son Alan, his wife jo-anne and grandson's Sean and Anthony.
Daughter Debbie her husband Gary and grandchildren Gemma, Sophie, Stephen, Eryn and Baby Daniel.
We never realized what a highly thought of person my dad was until his funeral when hundreds of fire officers from all around the country attended to give my dad the send off he truly deserved.
He was and always will be just my big cuddly dad.
Rest in peace Dad keep WATCH over your family and brigade. x x x x x x x
